Working seamlessly across all topics and, when necessary, all departments in the news organization
Working independently and remotely, while maintaining operational communication with the editor and, when applicable, the production center

The team covers shifts Monday through Sunday between the hours of 6 a.m. and midnight. While you will be given a set shift, you'll need to be flexible and willing to adjust that schedule as events require. Hours could fall anytime 24/7/365.

You should be someone who excels and thrives under pressure and can deliver to a deadline without losing any quality. Because we are an online, daily operation, you will also need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Assignments will be generated by reporters and editors and divvied up by the Lead Videographer, but you should also generate your own ideas. Whether generated by you or assigned through the system, you will shoot the subject matter, then load, transmit and post to a website, blog on the topic, interact with and judge the response of the audience, and more. There is no editing after the fact, so you will always ensure the quality of your work before you post.
Additionally, to be an outstanding professional, youâll establish relationships throughout the department and with the reporters with whom youâll work. You should be self-directed and self-disciplined, and eager to hit the ground running whether working independently or with a team. External contacts will be as important as internal. You'll need to learn and stay up-to-date with the city, key players, current events, entertainment venues, etc., and be as comfortable co-covering a football game as you are covering a city council meeting on your own.
