One year of experience in which clerical work was a major duty.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in a business, offic! e machines, secretarial science, or closely related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for the required experience on the basis of one month of full-time training for one month of experience.
Completion of a Secretary, Executive Assistant, or Office Systems Technology program of at least twelve months duration approved by the Department of Civil Service from a business school or technical institute will substitute for the one year of required experience. For less than completion of the program, credit will be allowed under the first paragraph for substitutions. All training must have been resident study.
College training may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.
NOTE:

The Office of Mental Health Advocacy Services located in Pineville, Louisiana has one vacancy. This position is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for staff attorneys and performs routine administrative functions for the office including, but not limited to: · Entering attorneysâ data into the agencyâs case management and data collection program · Assists with the dissemination! of training materials to staff · Answers and screens telephone calls. Greets and directs visitors to proper staff · Assists with coordination of meetings and work assignments · Receives all incoming correspondence, legal documents, appellate materials, case records and files · Maintains accurate calendar of hearings, trial dates and advises staff of upcoming scheduled events · Various administrative support services such as purchasing supplies, inventory control, maintenance of equipment and time-keeping matters Applicants must have Civil Service test scores for 9000-COAST Behavior Assessment and 9001-COAST Office Skills in order to be considered for this vacancy. Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies; may involve entering information into an automated system.
Receives, stores, and distributes supplies; maintains inventory of such.
Collects and prepares for processing time and attendance sheets for department or office.
Maintains department's records system, including filing and retrieving documents, researching files, etc.
