This position is responsible for providing oversight and leadership of Resource Development which includes the organizationâs fundraising program, events, grants, direct mail, database and campaigns. Develop goals and strategies for all fundraising campaigns. Meets with donors and prospective donors to create and foster relationships. The position performs a variety of tasks and requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and implement Resource! Development Plan and Strategy aligned with organizations prio! rities and objectives.
Develop and manage organizations major gift program including donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Manage Planned Giving program and Capital Campaign.
Manage organizations fundraising events.
Supervise Development Manager and Development Coordinator.
Supervise donor database including technology, research, queries and online giving services.
Manage corporate and foundation proposals, applications, grants and reports.
Strategize with Director of Marketing to leverage opportunities to align messaging, tactics, and opportunities for support.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This position requires 7+ years non-profit fundraising experience, major gift experience preferred.
Proven track record of achieving r! evenue goals of over $2M annually
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate and manage new donors
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and thorough understanding of strategic development
Proven management, leadership and supervisory capabilities
Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate giving vehicles
Demonstrated experience with publications and print material
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
Experience managing budgets
Certified Fund Raising Executive preferred
Must be able to demonstrate solid knowledge in the following areas:
Database management
Do! nor research
Planned giving and Legacy programs
Donor! solicitation, cultivation and stewardship
Special Events/appeals/campaigns
Direct Mail
Sponsorships and Partnerships
Grant applications and research
The Program Director shall:
Ensure maintenance of major donor records and major gift prospect list.
Manage the movement of current major donors to higher levels and develops strong relationships with current and potential donors.
Research donor prospects and prepare solicitation plans and proposals.
Coordinate with the CEO and Vice President to design and implement strategies for cultivating, and securing gifts from individual donors in major gift ranges.
Execute major gift materials, including briefing memos, proposals and stewardship materials
Coordinate with CEO, Vice President, Board and community leaders to build relationships and attend donor meetings in order to support organizationâs fundraising and capital campaigns.!
Manage organizationâs planned giving program including creating a plan to work with attorneys and financial planners on planned gift instruments and contracts.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires travel to agency locations as appropriate in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
Must have:
Current driverâs license issued by state of residence
Current Vehicle Inspection decal
Current Louisiana vehicle insurance
Current vehicle registration in state of residence
Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to carry up to 30 pounds. Moderate noise levels. Frequent walking, grasping, carrying, bending, crouching, and reaching in order to perform duties for the position. This position is full-time and work schedules will be between 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday.
