The surrounding community of Fort Polk is comprised of the towns of Leesville, DeRidder, New Llano and Anacoco. The nearest cities are Alexandria(45 miles nort! heast) and Lake Charles (55 miles south). The area is consider! ed rural and includes Kisatchie National Forest, which offers hunting and recreational activities located nearby. - Examine, investigate, and adjudicate tort claims for damage to or destruction of personal property and/or personal injury.
- Administer the Claims Services database, to establish an effective system of compiling and organizing case files to ensure all relevant informa! tion sources are resourced.
- Provide summation of investigate efforts, coordinating investigative plans with Claims Attorney and/or Chief, Claims Division.
- Compose a variety of correspondence related to legal claims and cases in support of Army Claims Services.
- Advise claimants on filing claims directly against the Transportation Service Providers.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
Ass! ist in the examining, investigating, and adjudication of tort claims fo! r damage to or destruction of personal property and/or personal injury; Provide assistance into investigate efforts, aiding in the coordination of investigations; Compose a variety of correspondence related to legal claims and cases in support of Claims Services; Provide advice to claimants on filing claims.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills,abilities) in the following areas:
· Knowledge of tort claims
· Ability to Examine Claims
· Skill in Using Office Automation Software
· Ability to Communicate Orally
· Ability to Communicate in Writing

Basis for Rating : Qualified candidates will be assigned to one of three quali! ty categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified and Qualified. Veteran ! preference eligibles are listed ahead of non-preference eligibles within each quality category.
