Further informations about this job opportunity kindly read the description below. Description Duties: Create/Activate Account. Registers patients on computer systems when they arrive for their appointment. Informs patients of financial responsibility and estimated costs. Reads department documentation sheets to discharge patients on patient registration log or registration system accurate diagnosis, time in/out, provider code number, disposition, location seen, admitted to, etc.; makes revised registration system immediately as errors are recognized. Completes daily balance of cash drawer and prepares cash log at the end of the shift.
Demonstrates actions consistent with Ochsnerâs Expectations as duties are performed on a daily basis.
Requirements: High school diploma,or equivalent required; a minimum of 1 year of related experience in hospital; clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front line registration, financial counseling, banking, retail ; . hotel and/or customer service related position. CHAM, CHAA, Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other medical specialty-based certification) preferred but not required. Employee will be required to complete a Medical Terminology course within one year of hire Must maintain a professional appearance at all times. Must be.open to learning while working as a team player, to carry out daily duties in a timely and accurate manner. Must display basic prioritization and organization skills and.handle several tasks and interruptions in a positive manner. Must contribute to an environment of teamwork, professionalism, customer satisfaction, high performance and mutual respect of others. Customer service focused with demonstrated ability to gather and disseminate information through effective communication with a diverse range of people, either in person or over the phone. Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments and functional areas. Must exhibit sound judgment in handling/escalating difficult situations and good organizational, time management, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent decision making skills; good analytical skills with a strong attention to detail are necessary. Self directed and able to accomplish responsibilities with little supervision. Ability to confidentially handle sensitive information. Proficient in the use of personal computers and associated software applications (Excel, Word, email functions). Ability to prioritize tasks to meet the needs of the Financial Services department and the clinical areas. Ability to perform job duties in self-directed work environments. Ability to learn new systems associated with the responsibilities of various functional areas. Employee will be expected to move about the unit in excess of 20% of the day in order to carry out the duties of this fast paced environment. Depending on the assignment and/or schedule for the day, may require long periods of sitting at a desk and computer entering data. Must be able to bend and stretch when retrieving reports or files from various heights. Must have fine motor skills and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer terminal, calculator, photocopier and facsimile machines. Must be able to endure visual strain for 80 to 90 percent of workday when reviewing computer reports, hand-written documentation or working at computer terminal. Continuous sitting. Frequent twisting/turning from waist; handling (holding, grasping, working with hands); fingering (pinching, picking, working with fingers) and vision-near acuity (corrected vision at 20 inches or less). Frequent need.to talk and hearing quiet surroundings; talk and hear over the phone. Occasional standing; walking; bending/stooping; pushing/pulling objects without rollers/wheels; squatting; moving objects vertically (up & down) and horizontally (left/right) 10 Ibs; feeling (size, shape, temperature, texture by finger receptors); vision â"far acuity (corrected vision at 20 ft or more); depth perception (judge 3 dimensions, distance & space); color vision (identify and distinguish color). Occasional need to hear and talk in noisy surroundings.
