Description: Louisiana Department of State Civil Service is in need of EXECUTIVE STAFF OFFICER right now, this occupation will be assigned in Louisiana. For detail informations about this occupation opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional level experience in administrative services, policy planni! ng, social services, or as a practicing attorney.

SUBSTITUTIONS:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.

Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:

A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaur! eate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years ful! l-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience tosubstitute for the baccalaureate degree.

Graduate training in business administration, social work, public administration, policy planning, or law will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.

NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Examples of Work:
Initiates and conducts studies of current procedures in use to determine need for revisions.

Coordinates the revision of agency rules, regulations, and procedures to meet r! equired changes; may provide training or conduct presentations on such ! changes.

Confers with department heads on projects relative to matters of policy including, but not limited to, interpretation and implementation, and assists in solving procedural and administrative problems.

Participates in the strategic planning process, which may include the analysis and evaluation of performance indicators.

Reviews and evaluates services and programs to ensure that the mission and goals of the office or institution are being achieved.

Represents the Assistant Secretary, as assigned, at meetings with federal, state, and local officials; legislators; professional organizations; and interest groups on matters relating to the office or institution.

Assists in the analysis of the impact of federal, state, and local legislation on the office or institution being served.

May be assigned to prepare position statements and offer testimony at hearings or legislative sub-committee meetings in regards to legisl! ation.

Assists the administrator in program activities such as accreditation, licensing, and compliance with federal or state court orders.

May manage a small clerical and professional staff.
