Directs the warehousing, transportation, distribution and logistics functions consistently across the Distribution Centers in their region while attaining targeted client satisfaction

levels.

Develops operational goals and objectives and associated programs, policies and procedures to drive the efficient and profitable operation of the DCs in their Region.

Partners with AVPs of Provider Services and Manufacturer Services sales team on sales, implementations and client management efforts across the Region.

Responsible for hiring, assessing, developing, coaching and mentoring General Managers.

Detailed Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.

Develops and executes operational plans across their Region to support the distribution and transfer of products and services to clients to achieve the strategic goals of the business.

2.

Directs the warehous! ing, transportation, distribution and logistics functions for ! the Region to effect the most efficient management of company assets, while attaining targeted client satisfaction levels and ensuring company practices and standards are maintained.

3.

Works with field leadership and Corporate Operations to establish annual key performance indicators and client satisfaction measures and manages DCs in their region to the successful achievement of those metrics providing regular updates and reporting to VP Distribution Network.

4.

Identifies opportunities to refine operations methods, processes and engineered standards for current business needs and future strategic objectives and partners with VP Distribution Network and Corporate Operations to develop initiatives for change.

Ensures successful execution of new programs consistently across the Region with support of site leadership.

5.

Develops budgets for their region and manages within budgeted parameters. Accountable for the! P&L across the region and recommends ways of maximizing resources and creating value for clients and Owens & Minor.

6.

Partners with AVPs of Provider Services and Manufacturer Services sales team on sales and client management efforts across the Region participating actively in sales calls presentations, developing relationships and providing client management and support for implementations.

7.

Interfaces with area sales team, manufacturer representatives and clients to resolve issues relating to product quality, availability and delivery schedules. Operates as client interface for problem resolution and for new service offerings working to strengthen the client experience across the Region.

8.

Ensures the Front Office functions of administration, customer service, inventory management, and local finance functions are managed to effect the most efficient management of company assets, while attaining targeted service le! vels.

9.

Responsible for hiring, training, assessing ! and developing succession planning for General Managers.

Provides direct coaching, development and mentoring to GMs.

Supports design and development of Operations leadership curriculum for OMU and facilitates classes at local sites and at OMU.

10.

Responsible for ensuring consistent practices in teammate recruiting, supervision, coaching, development, and termination practices.

Partners with Human Resources and OMU to ensure office and warehouse teammates are trained in new systems and procedures including new hire and refresher training.

11.

Establishes and promotes the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions and recommends measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards. Coordinates Loss Prevention Programs as directed by Corporate to include inspections, accident investigation and record keeping. Ensures all regulatory requirements are met regarding scheduled drugs, hazardou! s material, dating merchandise, storage requirements and reporting agencies to include DOT, DOL, DEA, FDA and others.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:
Four year undergraduate degree required.

Master's Degree preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least ten years of experience in leading and directing in the supply chain or warehouse operations industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
A.

Extensive industry knowledge as well as O&M-specific operations knowledge and expertise required

B.

Very strong financial management skills including prior P&L responsibilities

C.

Very strong leadership and people management skills with an ability to lead, coach and mentor all levels of teammates

D.

Proven team building skills, both within and external to own team, with the ability to motivate and direct the work of other! s

E.

Very strong customer relationship skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence senior level management

G.

Excellent planning and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to direct large complex initiatives across a broad network and ensure completion

H.

Proven ability to analyze and conclude; ability to apply Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies

Flexible and responsive to change with the ability to lead others in a changing environment

STRENGTH REQUIREMENT:
