Job Summary
The Professional Development Associate will contribute to the overall functioning of the Staff Development Department. The role will work in partnership with the Nurse Educators in supporting professional development of nurses and other healthcare providers. This role will include administrative, technological, organizational and program coordinating skills to support and promote the mission of the Staff Development Department.
Essential Functions

May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for office management and coordination of the facility including room reservation coordination, classroom set up/clean up, and interfacing with support departments such as IT, EVS, and Engineering.
- Responsible for managing the main phone line of the Staff Development department as well as email and postal mail.
- Responsible for ordering of supplies for the Staff Development department.
- Responsible for accurate file management and record-keeping.
- Responsible to assist with audio/visual/telepresence set up at the Mertes Education Center
- Responsible to create flyers, communications, reports, etc. as requested by Staff Development Educators
- Responsible for course and class creation using HealthStream.
- Responsible for assisting with class registration using HealthStream.
- Primary support for HealthStream including monitoring of HealthStream email account and daily user support.
- Responsible for ordering of supplies specific to the AHA program
- Responsible for coordination of class scheduling
- Responsible to assist with class registration and set-up
- Responsible to assist with record-keeping specific to the AHA program
- Responsible to assist with instructor coordination and interaction with students
- Interact professionally with employees of SHC-VC regarding their education needs
- Assist with record keeping for continuing education of SHC-VC employees
- Interact professionally with leaders of nursing and allied health education programs
- Assist with the onboarding of new students from nursing and allied health education programs
- Support with education agreement contract process for external education institutions.
- Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Healthcare – ValleyCare’s patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions
Job Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience interacting with clients, customers and/or patients in a complex environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by effective oral and written communication.
- Strong work ethic and pride in work demonstrated by timeliness of assignment completion, accuracy of assignment completion, dependability toward work schedule.
- Advanced technology skills including Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and strong ability to edit.
- Highly organized, detail oriented with ability to multi-task.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $33.13 - $41.41 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
