Licensure as either a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Licensed Profession! al Counselors Board of Examiners, or its successor, as required by law; plus four years of professional counseling.
This position is located at Fontainebleau Treatment Center in Mandeville. This position is also being posted as a Social Worker 3 or 4 and a Social Service Counselor 4B. There is only one vacancy. Applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period of not less than 12 months and not more than 24. EXAMPLES LISTED BELOW INCLUDE BRIEF SAMPLES OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL TASKS ARE INCLUDED. Conducts complex assessments and independent selection and use of varied in-depth therapies in the treatment of individuals with multi-problem dual diagnosis substance abuse problems (as defined by the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners in Rule (LAC 46:LX.503.e)). Develops and plans casework services and treatment for individuals with specialized problems in development, retardation, maladjustment, or depende! ncy. Develops and plans services that address and/or include family therapy, marital counseling, child abuse and sexual abuse therapy, major family disruption, developmental disabilities, death, and suicide. May provide training in caseload principles and practices and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulation, and agency policy and procedures. May serve as a lead-worker. May provide expert testimony and recommendations on behalf of clients in court cases in response to judges and other officers of the court.
Serves as liaison and coordinator between individuals, their families, the community, and service providers. Evaluates and monitors services and redirects when indicated.
