Position Summary
Performs a variety of duties in promoting and selling bank deposit services to new and existing customers.
Has responsibilities such as:
1. Opening and processing new accounts, including but not limited to, DDA, SAV, IRA''s, cer tificates of deposit and money market accounts.
a. Consults with customers on their specific needs for deposit accounts.
b. Quotes rates, service charges, restrictions and other relevant information about the accounts.
c. Prepares necessary paperwork for opening new accounts and input on computer.
d. Orders checks, ATM cards and provides counter checks if necessary.
2. Maintaining files on the account status of branch customers; informing customers when fixed time deposit accounts have matured; renewing accounts or opening new accounts.
3. Responding to customer inquiries on account status; researching problems and concerns.
4. Must be proactive in meeting the needs of customers, such as utilizing tools provided to offer additional products and retain existing relationships.
5. Cross-selling other bank services and referring customers to other departments such as Lending or Mortgage when necessary.
6. Keeping informed of changes in ba nk services and procedures.
7. Handles and relays through Compliance Department: Power of Attorneys, successions, subpoenas, court orders and estates.
8. Send items for collection.
9. Collects charge-offs.
10. Selling or cashing U.S. Savings Bonds.
11. Initiate Wire transfers.
12. Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.
13. Provide excellent customer service
May have responsibilities such as:
14. Safe Deposit box - open and entry.
15. Handle and process collection notes.
16. Take loan applications when loan officers are busy
Required Skills
- General knowledge of DDA, SAV, IRA, CD, and money market accounts.
- Under the supervision of the Branch Operations Manager.
- All new hires will be required to pass a background check, credit check, and drug screening.

Required Experience
Requires an associate''s degree or equivalence of 0-2 years of experience in accounts and customer cont act.
