Sasol (USA) Corporation is expanding its existing Louisiana Chemical Operations with the development of a world-scale ethane cracker that will produce 1.5 million tons of ethylene and other downstream derivative s per year. The ethane cracker will enable Sasol to expand its differentiated ethylene derivatives business, while helping to strengthen U.S. Manufacturing, boost exports and spur economic growth.

Sasol has an opening for an Occupational Health & Product Stewardship Specialist. This position will report through the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Department located at the Lake Charles Chemical Complex. Below are some details of the position requirements:
Position Responsibilities:
- Implements the hazard communication program for the region including the following tasks:
- Overall mana gement of the Chemical Approval program
- Overall management of the in-plant Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system and processes
- Ensures compliance with in-plant labeling requirements
- Assists in Product Development and Modification Process (PDMP) for isolated intermediates and other process changes
- Coordinates development and filing of EPA 311/312 reporting and others as appropriate
- Serves as Occupational Health subject matter expert contact to partner with and advise the Learning Department for the training content for all employees
- Analyzes and communicates compliance program needs for Occupational Health regulations
- Supports the Manager Occupational Health in implementing regional and Group program requirements
- Supports implementation of regional product stewardship programs Experience and/or Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, C hemistry, and/or other related Sciences
- 2+ years related industrial experience
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong background in regulations impacting chemical operations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT, is preferred
- MSJA
