Casualty Auto Claims Representative

FUNCTION: Position investigates, evaluates and negotiates first and third party private passenger automobile liability claims, including property damage and bodily injury claims by pe! rforming the following duties personally and under the direction of a Supervisor/Manager. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Verify coverage and investigate/resolve coverage issues Maintain all claims on appropriate diary intervals Interview involved parties and witnesses, taking recorded statements per company guidelines Return voicemails in a timely manner Gather all supporting documentation necessary to substantiate each claim and resulting resolution Evaluate damages as covered by the policy Negotiate settlement of claims directly with the party involved or his/her attorney Complete required claim reports, including ECLDA and CER Deliver superior Customer Service Maintain claim cycle times and closing ratios averages within established company metrics Handle each claim proactively throughout its life Other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of a degree State Adjusters License (if ! applicable) Knowledge of the Automobile Insurance Policy Minim! um 3 year experience handling liability claims, including bodily injury Excellent oral and written communication skills a must Good organizational and time management skills a must Ability to type a minimum of 25 WPM Proficiency with computers a plus / automated claims systems Experience appraising damages and working with repair facilities a plus Experience evaluating and assessing injury reports a plus
