Fortune 500 telecommunications company, with a substantial law department presence in St. Louis and Monroe is looking for an experienced transactional attorney interested in joining a collegial tea! m of lawyers that together support the wholesale sales and international network operations group.
The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, leading large Wholesale contract negotiations with an internal cross-functional team, of regulatory, finance, sales and technical personnel.
The attorney will possess a willingness to learn and understand internal business, operational, financial and technical matters to provide sound legal advice and risk analysis, while parlaying that knowledge into contractual terms that will simultaneously protect the company and service the needs of the business.
The attorney will be responsible for supporting the Company’s Wholesale Sales and Product organizations by leading large complex contract negotiations; drafting agreements and contract templates.
Developing and implementing new contract structures to support new product/technology development efforts; clearly and concisely identifyin! g and explaining the ramifications of contractual terms to the! business decision makers and third-parties during contract negotiations.
Identifying and negotiating through regulatory issues or concerns; partnering with other Company business channels to develop and implement processes designed to efficiently support the Sales and Product organizations.
Providing ongoing management and maintenance of contracts, including providing contract summaries and interpretations to sales teams and executive management; and investigating, resolving and preparing appropriate documents to resolve contract disputes.
Five or more consecutive years actively engaged in private practice or as an in-house lawyer, with a practice emphasis on contract negotiations and interpretation.
Experience as an attorney in a technically oriented business is required, experience in a telecommunications business is highly preferred.
Strong contract drafting skills required.
Able to quickly identify issues, communica! te corporate position, close a deal and interact in a personal and effective manner.
Experience drafting and negotiating contracts for the sale of goods and services.
Excellent writing, drafting and verbal communications skills.
Organizational, time-management and prioritization capabilities; able to manage workload independently, efficiently and with minimal supervision.
Able to negotiate, prioritize and manage a large volume of contracts and associated issues.
Must be a team player, energetic, optimistic, with a willingness to learn, have fun and enjoy coming to work every day.
